Liquid Assets by MJ Carnal Review

Liquid Assets by MJ Carnal

Max Callum has a secret that has the power to destroy lives. He’s been running from his past for years but as Liquid Regret heads out on tour, hiding becomes impossible. He’s lost the love of his life, he’s haunted by nightmares, and the very thing he fears the most has found him. He’s also falling for the one person who is off limits.

Rachel Preston has been hired as the band’s grief counselor after tragedy strikes. She’s determined to keep her relationships professional but when Max walks through the door, her boundaries are tested. He’s broken and forbidden and she’s never wanted anyone more.

As secrets come to light and powerful people fall, they learn that sometimes hush money isn’t enough.

Max Callum is the drummer in the hit band Liquid Regrets. He has tried to stay out of the spotlight. He was content with just being the quiet drummer, but now the spotlight is on him. WIth secrets and demons from his past threatening to expose the truth will he be able to cope and rise above?

Rachel Preston was hired as a grief counselor for the band, but now after getting to know them the lines have become blurred and friendships and emotions begin to surface. She is Determined to stay professional , but there is something about the quiet drummer that she just can't resist.

After reading the first two books in this series I could not wait for this book to be released. I just needed more and it could not get here fast enough. Liquid Assets was beyond worth the wait. From beginning to end I was pulled into Max and Rachel's story. Within pages Max had crawled into my heart and stole my # 1 book boyfriend spot. I never thought that would happen. I could not help but fall in love him. While reading his story my heart shattered into billions of pieces and I am not sure I got them all back because I think he kept one. I just wanted to reach through my kindle and pull him out and protect him from his past. Rachel was an amazing female lead. Her heart is truely shown through out the entire book and you can't help but love her too.

MJ Carnal wrote one of the best books I have ever read with this book. The characters who I knew a little about from the first two books were well developed and very easy to relate. Within the first few chapters I felt like I really knew who they were. While reading this book I went through so many emotions. I was crying within the first few pages. Which quickly turned to fanning myself from the heat the pages were producing. Followed by laughing, more crying, OMG moments, more crying but happy tears this time, moments I wanted to physically harm characters, and the list goes on and on. It was the emotional ride that I crave from every book I read , but so rarely get one that is this amazing. The book flowed effortlessly and as a reader I could tell the emotion and hard work that was put into it. Also her ability to touch on real life situations that more people go through than anyone cares to admit was done with class while still educating the reader on one of the darker sides of our reality. With Liquid Assets MJ Carnal wrote my favorite book of 2015.

Cadence Lewis has been dancing since she could walk. Living in New York with her parents she has the chance to go to the best dance school in the country, but when her father does the unthinkable she’s forced to leave her dreams behind and move to a small southern town with her mom.  Cadence is having a hard time adjusting to her new life when she meets Jade Carpenter.  Jade starts to show Cadence that small-town life isn’t so bad, but when Cadence has a chance to go back to New York she is on the next flight and will do anything to get her old life back.
As I approach the house, I can see that Gran is already in the garden. Knowing this isn’t going to go well with her, I suck it up and just deal with this shit literally.
“Lord have mercy, child. What happened to ya?” Gran says, looking toward me.
“Your boy down there had me take the cow shit to the compost pile and you can see the shit won,” I say with my arms crossed.
“Bless your heart. Did you not use the tractor?”
“Tractor?” At that exact moment, I hear an engine and I’ll be damned. Barrick is using a bucket to haul the rest of the manure down there. He looks toward us and waves. It’s on like donkey kong.
Casey Peeler grew up in North Carolina and still lives there with her husband and daughter.
Growing up Casey wasn't an avid reader or writer, but after reading Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neal Hurston during her senior year of high school, and multiple Nicholas Sparks' novels, she found a hidden love and appreciation for reading.  That love ignited the passion for writing several years later, and her writing style combines real life scenarios with morals and values teenagers need in their daily lives.
When Casey isn't writing, you can find her near a body of water listening to country music with a cold beverage and a great book.

Drake and Lucy will steal your hearts! There are not enough words for me to describe how much I loved this book. Drake and Lucy were two characters that I couldn't help fall in love with. I would say that this is Joanne Schwehm's best book so far. When I can read a book and visualize the whole thing playing out in my mind and feel the emotions that the characters are going through while I read it I know it's a great book. This book had me doing both of those things. Incumbent was different from any other book that I have read. Even now I have trouble putting into words how much I was sucked into the world of Drake and Lucy. I had a book hangover for days! I highly recommend this and I can't wait for the next one becuase honeslty I need more of the Prescott men!

“Incumbent...the title alone would not have grabbed my attention had the cover not blown my mind ;) WOW!!! Then I opened the book and DAAAAAMN, Joanne Schwehm grabbed me from the first chapter and kept me clean through to the last page!!” ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ~ Amazon Reviewer “First I need to say, I was the first person to have the pleasure of meeting Senator Drake Prescott, and it's a good thing I claimed him before anyone else. I devoured this book, and often threatened the author for more as I beta read every page the moment it was sent to my Kindle.” ~ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Author A.M. Madden “I vote for Incumbent! Joanne Schwehm has yet to disappoint me. Her writing is effortless and the story is amazing. I can't wait for everyone to meet Drake Prescott. SWOON!!!” ~ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Author Trudy Stiles

One Poor Choice by Deanndra Hall

One Poor Choice, The Citadel Series, Book 2 by: Deanndra Hall Release Date: October 20, 2015 Erotic Romance/Dark BDSM Tour Host: DRC Promotions
One smart man. One naïve, desperate woman. One poor choice. And a descent into a hell most people could never imagine.
All Jared Calhoun wants is a good time.
And he’s had plenty of those. He’s not looking for anything else when something, or someone, he never expected comes across his radar. And the former model standing in the Walters’ kitchen trips every trigger and lights up every nerve ending - maybe more than he‘d like.
Bernadette Guillory’s looking for her place in the world.
Cast out of modeling and living with relatives, Bernie’s desperate for a job. Good-looking, single Jared becomes her staunchest ally in her search for a better life, despite her brother-in-law’s threats. Jared says all he wants with her is some fun, but her vulnerability and innocence tug at his tender heartstrings, and soon they’re far more than friends.
Bernie’s search for a job ends in the wrong place, and when Jared finds out, everything she’s built for herself crashes down around her. Deported, broke, and alone, she’s vulnerable to all kinds of people. When she vanishes, Jared has to decide if love really can conquer all. And that decision won’t matter if they can’t find her before her poor choice leads to a fate far worse than death.
The second book in the first spinoff series from the Love Under Construction series, One Poor Choice will show you the darkness that can engulf a soul when it loses its way. It’s a story ripped from the headlines, a story for only the strongest stomachs and the most loving, forgiving hearts.
WARNING: Strong, graphic sexual situations, including sexual slavery and assault. For readers 18+ only.

He finally broke away and looked into her eyes. What he saw there startled him. Her eyes were soft and sweet, and her lips were swollen and flushed from his persistent kisses. She was like a siren, pulling him in, and he could feel the current from her body washing over him. What was it with this girl? He’d have to be very careful. She could get under his skin before he realized what was happening, and he couldn’t have that. All he could hope was that he wouldn’t have the same effect on her, but what if he did? What would happen? He wanted to keep his distance. That was how he operated, had to operate, and changing that wasn’t an option.

Once again Deanndra Hall leaves me speechless.  Jared and Bernie's story has everything I have come to know and love about the author's writing.  With Deanndra I always know that I am going to be on an emotional ride from beginning to end.  Where I cry either happy or sad tears, scream, laugh, and maybe want to hit something.  This story had all of that.  While Jarod and Bernie are at seperate stages in thier life the attraction is instant.  The question is can love still conquer all.  This book has very serious subject matter, but the fact is it happens everyday.  I praise Deanndra for being able to handle this subject matter with grace and class while still not hiding the ugly truths. Her characters are well developed and left and imprint on my heart. I can't wait to read more from this author.

About The Author

For as long as I can remember, I've been a writer . . .
and it has served me well. I wrote for local publications, wrote marketing and advertising materials, wrote for academic publications, and eventually grew jaded with the writing profession as I often watched others take credit for my hard work. I retreated into the world of 3-D art in the fiber and textile mediums and hid out in a world of colors and textures. But, truth is, there was always a story or two in my head. It wasn't until Nikki and I met in my imagination that I decided it was time to let those stories out, and I'm glad I did. My readers now get to enjoy the fruits of my imagination and, believe me, it runs wild!
On the personal side, I've been happily married to my lover and best friend for over thirty years, and I have two wonderful adult kids who've blessed me with two excellent choices of life partners. When I'm not writing, I'm playing with my three crazy little dogs, hiking in a local recreation area, kayaking, working out at the gym, tending my herbs, cooking, or doing some kind of research.
But I'd really rather be writing!
